This wine is fresh and vibrant with great complexity and richness. The citrus and nectarine fruits flow into textured and layered mid palate, of crème brulee and mealy notes. The French oak is subtle in the background; the palate is held beautifully together and structured by seamless natural acidity. The complex flavours linger thanks to a long, fine, citrus finish.

Named after a prominent nearby landmark, Castle Rock Estate is nestled on the eastern slopes of the Porongurup mountains. The winery has been built in a way that makes use of the natural slope of the land with wine moved via gravity. Not only is this a more sustainable process, but gentler on the wine thus retaining quality. Castle Rock Estate is activley reducing their carbon footprint; their winery is solar powered, all waste water is treated with a pond aerator (100% solar powered), they utilise only rain water and use no pesticides or insecticides. Rob prefers to facilitate the natural balance of the vineyard; this allows for a heathy and strong microcosm. The 2017 Pinot Noir has recently been award 95 points from Ray Jordan Top 100 Red Wines. Jordan states “Rob Diletti is a first-class winemaker. He is consistently one of Australia’s best…He really does know how to capture the best in the fruit and you can always guarantee that whenever he got his hands on the wine, it’s going to be good.” Rob Diletti has also been named as a Gourmet Traveller Winemaker of the Year 2019 finalist!
