Dark mahogany colour and a rich fruity nose of mixed fruits and dried plum with fruitcake, marzipan, quince, black pepper and a touch of soft, sweet spice and tea-chest from wood-ageing.
Layers of black and red fruit with a gentle warmth of spirit complementing the finish
The unpretentious public face of this small family winery belies the fact that they produce some of the richest and most acclaimed wines in the world. Since arriving in Rutherglen, north eastern Victoria, six generations ago, the family has quietly gone about establishing a particularly enviable reputation for their fortified wines. Stephen Chambers is now making his own mark after taking over the winemaking role from his legendary father Bill Chambers OAM.
In 2019 their Old Vine Muscadelle received gold and the trophy for Best Commercial Muscadelle. Their Rutherglen Muscadelle received gold in the same Best Commercial Muscadelle category.
