Clyde Park Wines Estate Shiraz

The ultra-fine palate broods with strawberries, red currant, white pepper and a hint of savoury green olive. The alluring sweet and sour nuances are delivered with delicate cool climate structure, extra fine tannin and hints of smoky oak supported by a long savoury finish. While this Shiraz is more than approachable at present it will reward medium term cellaring and pair well with grilled red meats, lamb koftas spring to mind.

About The Winery

Clyde Park Vineyard was established in 1979 when the varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were planted on the property.Further plantings since have increased the vineyard to 35 acres, expanding the original Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and adding Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris. In all we have 7 clones of Pinot Noir, 6 clones of Chardonnay, 2 clones of Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc and a sole clone of Pinot Gris.

The Jongebloed family have owned Clyde Park since 1996 and have concentrated on developing premium quality cool climate wines, which today are sold across Australia and recently have begun to export. They are proud to be a James Halliday 5 star rated vineyard for a number of years, and their wines have won numerous awards.
