The Rosetta is a Sangiovese Nebbiolo Rosé, a tribute to our Matriarch. Rosetta loved her garden it was her escape from long days working. Aromas of strawberries and wild raspberries. Dry and crisp with fresh cherry and plum flavours, the Nebbiolo lending length. This rosé has been made from selected Sangiovese vineyards that are noted for producing soft, delicate and fruity styles of wine, plus Nebbiolo picked from areas of our vineyard producing fruit with delicate floral characters. The fruit was machine picked, crushed and left on its skins for 8 – 9 hours. After pressing, the juice was then slowly cool fermented at 15˚C to retain fruit aromatics and freshness.
Establishing Pizzini Wines in 1994, Fred and Katrina Pizzini have built the brand based on their passion for family and a strong commitment to their Italian heritage, hard work and determination. These same virtues run through the veins of their children who all work within the business. Each of the Sangiovese vineyard sites has been evaluated based on consistency in fruit quality, fruit characteristics and resultant wine produced off of each site. The 2017 Pietra Rossa marks Pizzini’s 21st Sangiovese release.
