Sidewood’s first single clonal release of the Burgundian (Dijon) clone of ‘Oberlin’. Sourced from only 9 short rows of Oberlin Pinot Noir from our Mappinga Road, Oakbank Vineyard. The grapes were wild yeast fermented in small batches using 100% whole-bunch fruit. The wine was then matured in older French oak barrels, with 85% of the parcel being blended into our Estate Pinot Noir. The remaining component, only 800 bottles, being released separately. The wine showcases aromas of lively, wild strawberry, rose petal, black truffle and whiffs of funky earthiness and forest floor. The palate combines flavours of plums, dark chocolate with an alluring fine line of fresh acidity and mineral-like tannins.
